Unidentified White Male Found October 7, 1991 in East Providence Township, Bedford County
Vital Statistics Estimated Age: 35 to 42 years old Estimated Height: 5'2" - 5'5" Estimated Weight: could not be determined Hair Color: unknown Eye Color: unknown Ethnicity:possibly Hispanic Distinguishing Characteristics: examination by the Smithsonian Institution, Department of Anthropology determined that the male would have had a rugged, flat face with prominent cheekbones. He may have been of mixed heritage; American Indian, Western Asian or Latin American. State of Remains: skeletal, not all parts were recovered Cause of Death: gunshot wound Estimated time of death: 2-4 years prior to discovery Clothing: dark colored pants; faded blue shirt with button-down collar; blue, insulated, nylon jacket with hood; leather belt; leather, low cut shoes; remnants of a sweater and socks. Personal Items: black-framed, prescription eyeglasses and eye glass case; black wallet (empty); blue Pixilite flashlight; key ring with keys; fingernail clipper; wristwatch; black, plastic 'squeeze' type coin purse; several coins, most recent dated 1988. Dentals: Available DNA: Sample submitted to UNT, tests not complete.
Case Details On Monday, October 7, 1991, two bow-hunters found the victim's skeletal remains down a 60-foot embankment along I-70 in East Providence Twp, Bedford County, about 1 1/2 miles south of Breezewood and the PA Turnpike. The skeleton had likely been pulled apart by animals, but about 75% of the remains were recovered.
