Case Details
On Thursday, November 24, 2005, at around 12:30 a.m. Michael was a passenger in a Jeep Wrangler being driven by a friend.  While crossing the Danville-Riverside bridge, the friend lost control of the vehicle, slamming into an oncoming minivan. Neither the occupants of the other car or the driver of the Jeep were injured in the crash, though both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
Michael got out of the Jeep and was walking across the bridge, towards Riverside, when he either jumped or fell into the icy waters of the Susquehanna River.
Emergency responders and rescue teams arrived shortly after the accident but were unable to locate Michael.  A second search was conducted at around 8:30 that morning, but the search was halted after a couple of hours because of worsening weather conditions.
Michael's body has never been found.
