Joseph Kostak was last seen in the Wilkes-Barre area around April 20, 2011. He is described as an intelligent man but one who has struggled with substance abuse and depression. He has been known to take off in the past, for a day or a week, but has always returned. It is unlikely that he would be gone for any extended period of time without contacting family.
Joseph has been known to stay at Salvation Army shelters but a check with that organization showed no sign that he had stayed any any of their locations since his disappearance.
